What Life Brings

Whose to say what our life will bring
The roads we travel the songs we sing
We start this life as a newborn child
Into this world so uncertain and wild
We are taught what is right and wrong
And of people and places we do not belong
As we grow and begin to mature
Doubts creep in and we are not sure
We reach the stage where we rebel
We speak and do things we do not tell
Then one day when we realize
These were true and not lies
As we age people come and go
Death has no face it does not show
Then one day when we least expect
Death has come it claimed it's debt
We did not know we did not care
Death came so quick we were unaware
It came and stole a piece of our heart
It took our loved one that was once a part
How cruel and tragic for such a fate
It isn't real it must be a mistake
We struggle to cope and survive
We lost someone that was just alive
So this is what life does bring
Grief so deep you can feel it's sting
Why do we grieve and feel so lost
We would have changes places at any cost
Now it's done and in the past
All we have is memories that last
Now they are gone this I am sure
But they live in my heart forever more
