What Have You Done

My son my son what have you done
I gaze at your pictures and the tears still run
My life has changed dramatically that day
A heart has been broken the pain don't go away
Your life is over and I must survive
Oh how I wish you were still alive
The pain the grief I must endure
Is now a part of me forever more
Now as the sun rises a new day is born
All I am left with is another day to mourn
You left this world and got your relief
All I have left is a heart full of grief
You left no note for me to find
Maybe you thought I wouldn't mind
As I struggle with the events that took place
All I can remember is the look on your face
This is something a parent should not have to do
To try and figure out what happened to you
