Losing a Loved One

Losing a loved one is nothing new
It's how you cope and what you do
It is not for me to say
How to feel anyway
Each of us will mourn anew
In our own way as we do
Who decides on how to grieve?
Is it by what others perceive?
Each of us has lost someone
Now our sorrow has begun
For me it not a death per say
It was Suicide on that day
Now my pain and grief is deep
I try to smile but only weep
Losing a loved one this way
Is a very steep price for one to pay
I lost someone earlier this year
Their death was imminent and it was clear
To lose someone like I have done
The questions Why! Has just begun
So in this poem I would like to say
That you don't lose someone this way
