To Have and to Hold

To have and to hold the words we said
Who ever thought they would be dread
Not in the sense of holy matrimony
In the name of peace and our harmony
The deep dark struggles we hide within
Now haunt us unmercifully as if on a whim
Our thoughts race back to that tragic day
What we took for granted words cannot say
Our minds play games as if it were a knife
Creating havoc and trying to destroy our life
Idle times we once treasured before
Sends chills down our spine we find hard to endure
We struggle each day and wrestle with life
Our workplace becomes a place of much strife
We try to get up but get knocked to the ground
Trying some way to try and rebound
Emptiness sets in and despair runs deep
Our faces all red from tears that we weep
Why o why did this happen to me
I feel like I'm losing my sanity
The night is starting to close in
Tomorrow I fear it will start all over again
I try to reason and make sense of this
If only to have a moment of bliss
The answers I search for I never will find
I just wish life would treat me kind
I'm lost for words I can't say any more
The only thing I know is how to endure
