Evened The Score

The tears for you that I have cried
My love for you I would rather died
Your life was young and yet so new
There was to many things for you to do
Why did you leave this world in such haste
A terrible thing you did was a life to waste
Now all I have left is a broken heart
I dont know where to begin or even start
What could I have said or did not see
How could such a tragedy happen to me
Maybe you thought that life on earth
Was just to painful for all its worth
Questions abound in my mind that they race
All I can say is why did this take place
I have no answers I have searched high and low
In trying to comprehend why you chose to go
My heart and my mind does not want to accept
Of taking your life and full of regrets
There is no choice there is nothing to say
Just how my life changed on the tragic day
The tears I still cry and that will not change
For now I am lost and everything is strange
Over and over I will never forget
I wish it was me is my only regret
Then you would have so much to live for
As I died instead of you and evened the score
