The Agony of Grief

The agony of grief comes like a thief in the night
Your emotions are torn and wound up tight
The happiness is replaced as despair sets in
You retreat into a shell deep inside your skin
Everyday occurrences seem to annoy
Life is different you find it hard to enjoy
Shock and disbelief has begun it's toll
Reaching right in to your very soul
You have no where to run no where to go
Your world is turned inside out it has to show
Life for you changed instantly that day
You only wish you could make it go away
Anger, denial, and vengeance come over you
The answers you look for just won't do
The road of grief is hard yet long
That is when you must be strong
The agony of grief that comes in the night
Will fade away one day and be out of sight
Though the road seems long and hard to bear
Remember us here we will always be there
